CRLF line endings breaks Obsidian tasks integration

Subject: Obsidian integration ignores morgen-tasks-include and adds a new task ID on every sync for notes with Windows (CRLF) line endings Environment: Morgen desktop 4.0.6 on Windows 11. Obsidian integration with task ID policy set to add IDs, note inclusion default set to include. Morgen Tasks Obsidian plugin 1.0.7. Summary: For any Markdown note saved with CRLF line endings, the Obsidian integration (1) ignores the morgen-tasks-include frontmatter property, and (2) appends a new 🆔 task ID to every open checkbox on every sync, forever. Notes with LF line endings work correctly. CRLF is the default for many Windows tools, so this happens without the user doing anything unusual. Steps to reproduce: Create a note with CRLF line endings containing: morgen-tasks-include: false [ ] Test task Let Morgen sync the vault a few times. Expected: The note is excluded (morgen-tasks-include is false), so Morgen never writes to it. Even for an included note, a task should get exactly one ID. Actual: The note is imported anyway, and every sync appends another ID to the same task line: "- [ ] Test task 🆔 aB3xY9 🆔 Qm7pLk 🆔 ...". In one real note we reached 740 IDs across 12 checkboxes, 60+ on a single line, within a few days. Cause (from reading the shipped app bundle): notes are split on "\n" only, so on a CRLF file every line keeps a trailing "\r". Frontmatter: getFrontmatter() splits on "\n" and requires the first line to equal "---". On a CRLF file that line is "---\r", so it returns null and the note falls back to the inclusion default. The property is never read. ID loop: extractTasks_() splits on "\n" and passes each line, still ending in "\r", to the task parser. The parser's body match stops at the "\r", so it never sees an existing ID. The code then appends " 🆔 " to the raw line, which puts the ID after the "\r", and writes the file back with join("\n"). On the next sync the ID is again after the "\r", invisible, so another one is added. The file also ends up with stray bare "\r" characters in the middle of lines. Suggested fix: split lines on /\r?\n/ (or strip a trailing "\r" before parsing), and write each line back with the file's original line ending, so a CRLF note stays CRLF. Apply the same handling in getFrontmatter(). Separately, a small heads-up: the inclusion check only honours the property when its value is a string ("true"/"false"). That works with the current line-based frontmatter reader, but if it is ever swapped for a real YAML parser, morgen-tasks-include: false would arrive as a boolean and be silently ignored. Workaround: converting affected notes to LF line endings fixes both problems. The exemption is honoured and a single ID is written once. The accumulated duplicate IDs have to be removed by hand.

Modify Which Task Deadlines Show on Calendar View

I have A LOT of readings due literally EVERY DAY for school. I like to see my deadlines but it literally crowds the ENTIRE month view and makes it unusable. I love that I can differentiate between when a task is planned vs when it is due, and I absolutely need to see both in the calendar (love that morgen does this), but the layout doesn’t work when life gets crazy. Maybe each task could have its own checkbox instead of selecting all of them? Better yet, add the “show deadlines in calendar” option to filtered lists. So i can create a filtered list of todoist tasks for the next 2 weeks instead of seeing all of them. There could also be a quick toggle button on the top of the screen to show and hide deadlines.

Flexible Routines / Precise Recurring Tasks

I would like the ability to set a Routine that I can be prompted for a reschedule upon Events coinciding with it. I know the exact time when I would prefer to do a certain thing daily / on weekdays, I only want that to change for that specific day if an event pops up that would keep me from being able to do it at that time. I do not want to use the repeat due date feature on tasks, then have the calendar place it at a random time each day without being able to see ahead of time when I would be doing that task. That is very difficult to plan around. Alternatively, add repeat back to tasks and allow specification of exact time of day to repeat. I understand the appeal of recurring due dates for less habitual tasks that can be moved around, so there should really be three categories for tasks / routines: Tasks [do them once, maybe if you want to do it daily at some random time you set a recurring due date and have Morgen slot it in for you at a time that doesn’t coincide with events], Routines [exact days and times of the week, don’t move upon events coinciding], Flexible Routines [exact days and times of the week, prompt me to have it moved if an event coincides with it, a simple toggle option within Routines to allow for this behavior].

Unreadable Task List

There needs to be a way to make the task list more workable. As it is, it becomes unwieldy very quickly — Sorting by list and keeping them closed is fine, but once you open a list there’s no visual barrier, and you can’t modify the appearance of tasks (e.g. condense them). It would be very helpful if there was a way to select one task type (e.g. work, personal, due tomorrow, etc.) and hide all other types while it is selected.

Change subtasks to regular tasks

Sometimes I need to change a subtask to regular task. But now I need to copy all settings. It would be great to just change 1 setting of the task level.

Adjust multiple events/tasks at once

Currently, you can select multiple events/tasks and either delete them or move them. I want to be able to also colour them all the same like you can do with individual events, or add a tag to all of them if they are tasks. Further options could include adding a reminder to all of them, setting all of their importance level etc.

Morgen ignores the Obsidian Tasks plugin's NON_TASK status type when importing checklist items

I use the Obsidian Tasks plugin with custom statuses. Several of them are explicitly configured as type "NON_TASK" in the plugin's data.json for example: { "symbol": "i", "name": "information", "type": "NON_TASK" } { "symbol": "k", "name": "key", "type": "NON_TASK" } These are meant to be informational sub-notes under a real task (e.g. a log line noting something I learned while doing the task), not tasks themselves. In Obsidian, the Tasks plugin correctly treats them as non-actionable. Morgen, however, reads any markdown checkbox line ("- [i] some text", "- [k] some text") straight from the file and imports it as a real task — grouped in the sidebar under labels that match the status names ("information", "key"). This happens even though the line has no due date, no 🆔, and is a sub-item indented under another task. Screenshot attached showing "information" and "key" groups full of what are just log notes, not tasks. Request: please read the Tasks plugin's customStatuses config (data.json) and skip any status whose "type" is "NON_TASK" when importing/scheduling from a vault. This would let Morgen coexist with the Tasks plugin's full status vocabulary instead of only the default checkbox states. As example, that’s a photo of a task that i forwarded to tomorrow , i used the symbol “i” to information , to information to me why i forwarded that task… Both fowarded symbol and information is recognized as non tasks by obsidian, but morgen catch that. Thanks!

Sync allocated task time back to Obsidian

I use Morgen alongside Obsidian, importing tasks via the 🆔 tag on each task line. When I allocate a time slot for a task in Morgen, I'd like that time to be written back into the Obsidian task line (e.g. next to the 🆔), so I can see at a glance what time was scheduled without opening Morgen. Ideally this would be two-way: if I change the time in Morgen, it updates in Obsidian; if I change it in the Obsidian line, it updates in Morgen. Right now the sync only goes one direction (Obsidian → Morgen), so once a task is scheduled I lose visibility of its time inside the vault.

Bookings is forcing a weekly recurrence, need monthly availability

Hi I’d love to use the booking feature more. However it is currently limited to weekly. My clients want to book for a monthly session with me, and I can’t propose to them an availability during the month. If I use Morgen I can only do weekly recurring availaibility, it will create a big mess to allow weekly booking.

Drag down tasks from a timeline

It’s a big feature to implement, but it would be so handy to see all tasks (especially long term tasks with dependencies) in a timeline above the daily schedule so you could drag daily segments of each task down. Play around with the Claude artifact Potential benefits include: Quickly visualizing how much time each task should have allocated each day Easily drag and adjust start/end dates, time allocated for each tasks, dependencies, etc. Timeline bars get taller or shorter depending on how much time should be spent on them each day to get it done within set constraints You can get a sense of how busy each day could be without necessarily scheduling everything in advance to the minute (by looking at how many tasks are schedule-able from the timeline for a given day)

Pinch-to-zoom in the mobile calendar

It would be useful to be able to zoom in and out of the calendar view using a two-finger pinch gesture. Pinching outward could zoom in, while pinching inward could zoom out. It would also be useful if this could adjust the overall scale of the calendar while preserving its proportions, rather than only changing the vertical height of the time slots, as the current zoom slider does.

Bug: Availability slots default to the wrong duration, even though a duration is already set in the event.

When making an open invite, I'm clicking on the calendar to choose the different availability slots. Even though the default duration for the event is already set and predefined to 30 minutes, as I click on a new slot, it's choosing 15-minute time options instead of 30 minutes. I would expect that as I click for a different availability slot, it would default to the duration that is already set on this open invite that I'm creating. I don't want to have to go back and re-adjust the duration of each availability slot when it was already pre-configured in the duration. That doesn't make any sense to need to do all that extra effort. Also because it displays this way, I have no confidence in whether the tool is going to work correctly or not. Will this create a 30 min or 15 min event once everything is done?
