At the moment to do repeating tasks you need to drag them to calendar and then assign repeat. It would be great if we could assign recurring when we create the task in the sidebar.
I added some comments/use cases on the above, as well.
+1 to recurring tasks. Absolutely critical. Also needed on mobile.
This is one of those features I can't live without, which means I'm using Apple Reminders instead of Morgen when it comes to tasks.
Every to-do/task manager out there has the idea of (unscheduled) recurring tasks. Things that happen every [x] period, but don't actually show up on the calendar or scheduled for a particular time of day.
Key use case:
Process payroll last workday of every month
This is an example of a critical task that absolutely must happen any time during the last day of the month. No matter what happens on the calendar, it's got to occur. Ideally, (much like Reminders, Todoist, etc.) I'd be able to check it off, and it disappears from my task list until a few days before the next due date. Then it shows up as "due soon" and progresses until "due today."

I am very excited as the prospect of this request getting into Morgen. Recurring tasks are the key to managing habits, and having the ability (within Morgen) to set habits up and have them recur at requested intervals would be terrific. I would love to use Morgen solely as my task manager / planner and this would get me a whole lot closer to being able to do that.

I think it is tough to schedule when habits happen per day.
Personally I would like to create my habits and have them show up as unscheduled tasks above the day they're due if I haven't scheduled them. Then I can go in and schedule them (or have the AI schedule them into habit frames).
I do what you do now but it can be difficult at times to keep a consistent schedule for certain things and this would make habits specifically easier to work with imo.

I think what I would like in addition to the habits showing above each day (maybe even moreso) is a collection of the habits to do each day on the sidebar. I know the due today list doesn't show habits on it, I would like the ability to enable a 'Due Today' list for habits that is split from non-recurring tasks. Just a list of the recurring tasks that are due that day. I keep a to-do list like that in other apps where I can see later in the day to perform a habit I missed in my morning routine, and I would like something like that in Morgen

I would love to add, that if there was an even EASIER way to do recurring tasks inside Morgen directly, I might even want to rely on Morgen solely in the future rather than attempting integrations for task management. So acknowledging that recurring tasks tend to be the messiest of them all, I would love to see this feature get better through the Morgen teams updates!

In all honestly, when I process any task that is a daily, weekly, monthly, yearly I have a date that I need it to start and then it's usually (every 30 days from last completion) but it is hard to handle an overload of tasks that are all set with no first "due date" as I am in the middle of organizing the tasks at hand via Todoist and utilized Make to create automation for the projects. A planned date seems to fit the mold for me better rather than when it is due because the AI tends to sway towards scheduling early to complete by that "due date" rather than just planning the date ahead however many days the task is needed to be done. If there was a way to have the AI scheduling update tasks this way I would be FOREVER grateful and to have the due date and planned date as choices within Morgen when scheduling directly with Morgen may benefit all users as a whole as some rely on the program soley for business purposes others, such as myself, have been utilizing it for all daily tasking and future projects business and personal. Thanks again - keep up the great progress!

You have tasks in Todoist and using Make to create projects for them which show the regurring tasks in Morgen.
Is that correct?
If planned dates suit you then I am curious why you are asking for this request as recurring tasks currently require a planned date for the repeat field to be present.

Adding a little detail here:
For a task that is recurring, e.g., "every Friday," and it has no specific time that it recurs (so it's not an event, it's just a task), then the task should show up as an "all day task." Right now Morgen shows tasks that have a due date (but not a schedule time) quite nicely, at the top of the frame. But they can't recur. (Screenshot attached).

I have a bunch of regular (monthly / weekly etc) tasks that I need to re-appear in my task list at specific intervals.

This is exactly what I am looking for right now. I like to have a daily and weekly task list that I'd like to recur on those basis.
The current set up either means you list all of the daily/weekly tasks on a recurring basis, which completely overruns the calendar, or have a recurring task with subtasks but these subtasks do not recur with it meaning you have to repopulate them if you tick them off.

My issue is more related to tasks without a specific time, but ideally done that day/daily, which I tried using all-day tasks but it quickly becomes difficult to look at and sort through if you have >5. I currently just set up a 'daily' task with the actual tasks in the notes as I can't find an easy solution. It would seem an all-day recurring task with recurring sub-tasks in the side bar to be the easiest option if it was possible. Considering checking out Sunsama for this reason.

Morgen doesn't offer a reliable way to schedule or review such repeating tasks, and it's absolutely killing my ability to use Morgen. I still have to resort to things like Apple Reminders or other competing products to make sure things get reliably done. Reliability is they key.
I've been trying to find a way to reliably schedule my "Payroll tax due" task each month. Morgen keeps screwing it up. The tasks get marked done and never recur, or show up at weird times. Today the AI planner scheduled this task. It's supposed to happen on the 1st of every month. Dug into it, and I can't see why – in the task bar it says "all tasks in the past or completed" and now it's trying to schedule this task for today, when it should be sitting on July 1st. So frustrating. It's really pushing me away from Morgen, I can't waste my time with a task manager that can't easily, reliably schedule recurring tasks.
I just can't trust Morgen as a task manager. :( :( :( This is very frustrating.

Currently, I am unable to make recurring tasks flexible. I hope this can also be fixed when this feature is implemented.
