keep the app running in the background (even when closed) - macOS

when we close Morgen with cmd+q, the calendar closes and does not stay in the background

this has caused me to miss the time for some meetings

    I am a bit confused.

Why would you close Morgen but want it to continue working?

Sorry please delete this request! It was written when I knew nothing about macOS (I had just migrated to macOS), and didn't quite understand its philosophy of closing vs quitting. Now, I don't quit it, I just close it. I see now how contradictory this request it hahaha.
