When I edit the start time of a a calendar event, the time picker (the scrolling list of hours and minutes) initializes at the 00:00 position when the start time is not on a 15-minute increment (e.g., 12:00, 12:15, 12:30, 12:45), creating friction when editing the event. For example, I have “Time dragging resolution” of 5 minutes, and often I accidentally create an event starting at 12:55 instead of 13:00, and I want to quickly correct it, I currently have to scroll all the way from 00:00 to 13:00 hour.
The proposed solutions:
If I have the 5 minute resolution, also have 5 minute increments in the time picker
When creating calendar events by clicking directly in the calendar, snap the start time on 15 minute increments (12:00, 12:15, 12:30, 12:45, 13:00…) regardless of what time dragging resolution I have. It would be really rare that I need the start time at any other time (e.g. 12:05). But for the end time, dragging the event to change the duration can still conform to the time dragging resolution.
if having 5 minute increment in the time picker is not possible, have the time picker automatically initialize to the hour and minute range closest to the event's current start time. In the 12:55 example, the time picker would open near 13:00, requiring only a minor adjustment from me.
