I’d love to create my own tags, like before, in different colors. Now there are no preset tags for different types of events and a wide range of color options with this new version

YES! I am beyond frustrated that I can now only color code/tag tasks. I understand I can change the color for events, but it is not customisable or associated with my tags. This was integral to my workflow and will find another calendar program that allows me to do this if it isn’t resolved soon
That’s very disappointing (that I can’t specify an exact color for event tiles, because the software overrides). I had put a lot of effort into choosing exactly the right colors. I’m tempted to downgrade to v3. Please reconsider. We users know what we want. If the concern is that a background color doesn’t provide good contrast, enable us to set foreground colors as well. Version 3’s implementation was much better. Feels like v4 has been gutted.

For me tags have meaning:
Done (black)
Important (orange)
Free (green)
in v3 i could use tags to color a label for this.
I would need at least for my done label:
1.The ability to add custom colors to the color picker (like with calendar colors)
To highlight both event and tasks as important:
2. The ability to assign a tag to both events and tasks to mark them as important 3. The ability to multi-select + rightclick tasks and events to assign a tag at once.

Yes please. For me the custom-labeled tags were more than colours. They were given meaningful names and allowed colouring items with consistency.

To clarify, you would like a way to save colours for events like the version 3 tags, and would like more colour options for the events. Is that correct?
